Andy Anderson, baterista de The Cure a comienzos de los '80", falleció recientemente por una enfermedad terminal, según informaron familiares a diferentes medios.
El músico británico tenía 68 años y una carrera que destacaba colaboraciones con Iggy Pop, Peter Gabriel y Mike Oldfield.
Anderson participó de una etapa especialmente creativa del grupo fundado por Robert Smith y Lol Tolhurst. Más precisamente, la que comprende las grabaciones de Japanese Whispers, The Top y el disco en vivo Concert.
En lo audiovisual, se puede ver a Anderson percutiendo y haciendo morisquetas en los clips de The Lovecats y The Caterpillar.
Tolhurst confirmó el fallecimiento de su excompañero vía Twitter. Cerró su mensaje con un “nos sentimos bendecidos por haberlo conocido”.

Andy Anderson was A true gentleman and a great musician with a wicked sense of humor which he kept until the end, a testament to his beautiful spirit on the last journey. We are blessed to have known him.
So Cindy and I just heard from some friends who were there with Andy as he passed at 5:57 pm UK time today. It is a small measure of solace to learn that he went peacefully at his home.
